The story of Effikace products didn’t begin in a corporate lab. It began at the Saint-Eustache flea market.
A chemist. A small factory in Laval. And customers who came back every week.
Pierre is a chemist. Not a corporate lab chemist who formulates products without ever speaking to a real customer. A hands-on chemist—passionate, meticulous, and deeply attentive.
For over 35 years, he has been making his household products himself in his small factory in Laval. He sold them at Rona, at Metro, and every week at the Saint-Eustache flea market—face-to-face with his customers, listening to their comments, their questions, their successes, and their frustrations.
It was this direct contact, week after week for 35 years, that made Effikace products exceptional. When a customer came back saying, “Pierre, it works well on cotton but not so well on synthetics”—Pierre would go back to his factory and make adjustments. No focus groups. No market research. Real people, with real problems, and a chemist who truly listened to them.
No major industrial brand can claim that. Tide, Javex, Mr. Net—their formulas are designed in labs by teams who have never met their customers. Effikace products, on the other hand, have been perfected through real-world use for over three decades.
That’s why when you apply Effikace to a stain, it really works. It’s no accident. It’s the result of 35 years of patient refinement.
Our discovery. Our favorite.
That’s how we met Pierre and his products. From the very first try, it was obvious—these formulas were different. Precise. Targeted. They solved problems that supermarket products didn’t even address.
We went back to see him several times. One question kept coming up: why aren’t these extraordinary products in every supermarket and pharmacy in Quebec? Thousands of garments could be saved. Thousands of families could clean their homes with products that really work—and that are environmentally friendly.
Pierre had a simple answer: he was a chemist. Not a businessman. He had created something exceptional—but the world didn’t know it yet.
The Handover.
A few years later, Pierre fell ill. A serious fall, a hospital stay, and a difficult reality: he could no longer continue on his own. He contacted us to take over the company he had built over 35 years.
Les Créations Effikace became Produits Effikace Inc. We took over the company with a single mission: to make these exceptional products known to all Canadians who need them. The name has changed. Pierre’s formulas, however, have remained intact. It’s his science. His legacy. And now, our responsibility to share it.
